Mr. Jaafar S. Abdulkadir leads Salaam Microfinance Bank Limited as its the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He oversees all operations of Salaam Microfinance Bank Limited. Prior to this, Mr. Jafaar was the managing director of Aqeel Consulting Limited, a firm that specializes in the development of the Islamic finance. He has a solid banking experience spanning over two decades. Mr. Jaafar was involved in establishment of the KCB Islamic banking unit and was also part of the team that set up the KCB South Sudan subsidiary over a decade ago. He has vast knowledge in project development, governance, risk management, among others.He holds a BA degree in Development studies from Kimmage Development Centre-Ireland, Diploma in Micro-finance from Strathmore University, Diploma in Islamic banking and Insurance from the London Institute of Islamic banking and Finance as well as a Postgraduate certificate in social entrepreneurship from the Colorado State University. He also has a certificate in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University Malaysia and Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from the Strathmore Business School. Jaafar is a trainer in banking, leadership and management and offers thought leadership in banking and finance in the Kenyan newspapers and other international publications.
